Meet Our President
Marcus T. Alexander EdD, SFO | President and Principal Consultant
Dr. Marcus Terrell Alexander is an education management consultant and veteran public school executive with deep expertise in district finance, organizational redesign, and executive leadership. A South Side Chicago native and graduate of Chicago Public Schools, he began his career in public service by enlisting in the United States Army while still in high school. In 2006, he was formally commended by the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Financial Management for his leadership during the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) proceedings.
Following his military retirement, Dr. Alexander transitioned into public education, where he served as a certified Principal, Chief School Business Official, and Superintendent in multiple school districts across the State of Illinois. He has led complex district turnarounds and fiscal stabilization efforts, most recently serving as Superintendent of Calumet Public School District #132. His prior roles include Superintendent of Pembroke CCSD #259, Associate Superintendent of Waukegan Public Schools, and senior administrative positions within Chicago Public Schools. Across these roles, he developed a reputation for aligning governance, finance, and instructional priorities to drive sustainable system improvement.
Dr. Alexander is currently an Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership (Tenured Track) at Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans. He teaches Masters and Doctoral-level courses in Educational Law, School Business Management, and Mix-Methods Research Methodologies.
In 2018, Dr. Alexander founded FORCE Learning Partners, LLC, an education management consulting firm that partners with School Boards, Superintendents, and senior leadership teams to strengthen district performance. FORCE Learning Partners provides strategic planning, financial analysis, organizational design, and implementation support to help districts move from compliance to coherence and from strategy to execution. The firm currently supports school systems in Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
In addition to his consulting work, Dr. Alexander is an active civic and nonprofit leader. He currently serves as the Chairman of the National Superintendents Commission of the National Alliance of Black School Educators (NABSE). In addition, Dr. Alexander serves on the boards of The Dream Project Foundation, Inc. and the KIG Community Reinvestment Fund. Previously, he served as the Board President of the Chicago Defender Charities and the Bud Billiken Parade. He is also the Past Polemarch (President) of the Calumet City–Lansing Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
Dr. Alexander holds a bachelor’s degree from Viterbo University, an MBA in Finance and Accounting from American InterContinental University, and a Doctor of Education from Argosy University–Chicago. He is nationally certified as a School Finance and Operations (SFO) administrator and holds the National Superintendent Certification from the Association of School Business Officials International.
